About

Mirai no Mori is a non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting and empowering young people in Japan through outdoor programmes. We were first introduced to Kozue, the driving force behind the organisation, through the British Chamber of Commerce in Japan (BCCJ). When she shared Mirai no Mori’s mission with Wild Tame founders Joseph and Satoko, it immediately resonated. They recognized not only the importance of the work being done, but the potential for a long-term partnership where storytelling could help support the cause.

For Wild Tame, the collaboration offered more than a chance to document meaningful work. It opened the door to spending time outdoors with an inspiring community, forming new friendships, and contributing in a practical way. Over the course of a year, we produced a series of short films, each focused on a single weekend or week-long program, capturing moments of growth, connection, and quiet achievement.

In December 2023, the partnership culminated in a 10th anniversary film, marking an important milestone in Mirai no Mori’s story. Since then, we’ve continued to support their work through video, photography, and participation in fundraising activities.

Our connection with Mirai no Mori also extends to documenting the wider community that supports them, including the Knights in White Lycra 500km charity bike ride. You can read more about that journey, and the people behind it, in our documentary following John’s path from “couch to 500.”
