To coincide with the simultaneous launches of director Zack Snyder’s epic space opera Rebel Moon and the highly anticipated live-action adaptation of the manga Yu Yu Hakusho, Wild Tame was commissioned by Netflix to produce a series of videos, including this special interview between Japanese actor Takumi Kitamura and American director Zack Snyder.

Filmed in Tokyo, the piece brings the two creatives together for a thoughtful conversation about their respective works, creative approaches, and the experience of bringing ambitious stories to life across different cultures and mediums.

The project was a collaboration between Wild Tame, Netflix, and Geek Pictures, and was filmed with special permission at Zojoji Temple. Following their discussion, Zack and Takumi took part in a traditional ceremony to pray for the success of their films, adding a quiet, symbolic moment to the shoot.
